When I was at Northeastern University, I was known among my friends for being uncommonly enthusiastic about Connecticut in general, and Hartford in particular. Hartford’s assets are matched by few places anywhere, and all that has been missing is the attitude that Hartford can and should be a world-class city. I believe in this city, and there is no better time to be here.

Though “New England’s Rising Star” has become something of a punchline over the years, Hartford today really is a community on the verge of reaching its enormous potential. The governor’s commitment to tourism, the iQuilt plan as awesome as its name is terrible, and an energized sports and entertainment community all point to a vibrant and exciting city in the relatively near future.

This will be my personal blog – probably with more thoughts about baseball and pictures of my cats than you’re interested in – but the star is the city of Hartford, and most of what I have to say will be about where the city is going and how we get there. I’ve been visiting and working in Hartford for years, and I am incredibly happy to now be a resident.

I’ve been saying it for years, but it’s even more fun when you live here: I heart Hartford.
